Are you looking for God? Are you as hungry for truth as I am?
No subject taboo with God.
Hmm!! Big questions to an interesting mystery, looking for God!
I have discovered there is no subject taboo with Him. If it is, it is generally religious dogma that puts Him in a religious box. He doesn’t dwell in religion.
We all live in this great big chicken yard spinning around its axis at 1000 mph and whats more, at the same time, 60,000 mph around our sun.
I am writing this down under in New Zealand. I have to say, “Go figure … how did all this come to be and how come we are making such a mess of something so beautiful”?
If you’re are interested my story, it is motivated by this. “I was not happy living in this unstable international mess of opinions. I want to know if there is a leader, counselor, adviser of advisers who I can contact and trust to steer me through the mess we have all made”. This is the chicken yard.
The chicken yard full of purpose.
Some chickens are white, some black, some red, some orange, some freckled and all scratch, eat and excrete poo. We/they all like attention like their feathers stroked and hate getting our feathers ruffled. We fear the man with an ax who wants our body for their Sunday roast.
Well, at least that’s how it seems sometimes. When I’m in a light-hearted frame of mind it doesn’t change the fact, whatever I set my heart on as my desire, I am looking to fulfill some meaningful purpose. Something more than temporal value and that is another reason why I searched for God. The chicken searching for food and not wanting the feared ax on his neck.
A big question.
Blog number one started with the introduction and an inference that there is a God who exists, who can be talked to, who created and owns this chicken yard and who looks after it through teaching His caretakers how to manage. Unfortunately, our attitude has been to mock His advice and follow another leader who hates the chickens except for his own self-centered pleasure. Whether we are conscious of him or not He still owns the chicken yard and as with any good boss, he gave us His working manual.
Those who have asked the question and found the manual have discovered the chicken year is full of wonder and childlike discoveries are their daily fare.
So who is this amazing God and where is He to talk to? Good question, I think, because it sure gets me thinking how all this started, how it will end up without a better mindset than we are currently struggling with! Is there a divine outside of the natural who is beyond our comprehension looking into time for hungry chickens looking for the love of a master-hand?
Are you like me? When I read the current news I can, at times, get depressed and overwhelmed with hopelessness. I need an anchor to something greater than politics, religion or philosophy and so I ask questions like, “God, do you exist and will you talk to me, even when others think I’m foolish? I think “What have I got to lose because as I look at most of us we surely are making a mess of each other and love is a grossly misunderstood reality?
Something in me has an eternal value and perspective which has never been answered through politics, religion, science, the arts or philosophy.
Looking for God in politics and religion.
Within politics, religion, and philosophy, the big 3 subjects, it is easy to become confused when many say they follow a God or no God and what they say is right. The evidence is different, something far deeper is wrong. Many kill others who believe differently and in the name of the God they serve. That’s strange. If God is love I want to know *Him. Can *He tell me why we are messing up in such a destructive way and what truly is the outcome of all this madness. (Emphasis capital *H to honor someone greater than me as a simple act of respect)
God must be confused if we kill one another in our Gods name! What do you think?
Do all ways lead to God?
Some people say all ways lead to God! Well, if this is true it confuses me as well! At closer inspection of each political and religious ism or dogma, you will find it is totally impossible for all of them to be right.
We have an atheist who doesn’t believe there is God! He has to die! Where does that lead him and how does one find freedom from fear or for that matter get a clean conscience.
We have some who say we are accountable to a benevolent founding King, beyond our comprehension, who understands the right way, wisdom, and encourages us to seek Him for important answers to questions that will bring an understanding.
There are others who say we must submit to a dogmatic rhetoric and destroy others who don’t agree. Kill those who don’t agree and make a perfect race of people who all agree on the same thing. Some of these dogmas are baited to achieve rewards of unbridled lust, drunken orgies, playing harps on clouds, and yet others who say it’s all evil, drop out, sort out your Kama. And the list goes on, anti-gay, anti-religion, liberal theorists, communists, evolutionists, anti-supernatural, anti or pro the spirit world, etc, etc.
Believe in what god?
For friends and many enemies :-), I’m looking forward to the journey and start with this freeform poem for you to ponder.
A Muslim believes
A Christian believes
A Buddhist believes
A Hindu believes
An Atheist believes
A vegetarian believes
Gay people believe
What do you believe?
Who makes your belief system?
If I believe something different than you?
Why should you hate me?
And what has fear got to do with all this?
Something I cannot change.
My conscience pricks me when I’m wrong. I can’t change that.
I can silence my conscience by shifting the blame, drifting into denial, becoming comatose on drugs and alcohol, abuse others with no mercy, lie or cause war and murder those who intimidate my belief system.
In all the confusion of opinions, I have discovered there is an anchor. Yes, there is a wise one, full of pure love, a chief chicken who knows me more intimately than any other. Religious dogma cannot answer with cold words or a set of laws. Only a reconciliation with God in Heaven can. God dwells in light and is love.
He* is supernatural and outside time. He can walk into any boardroom, bedroom, nation, culture, and belief system at any time in history, past present and future to change the direction of a person, culture or nation. (He* is not male but using the word as all-encompassing of male and female in His image as the supreme and eternal founder – no beginning and no end. I have not found an adequate word in our language to describe Him in our terms of understanding. I use He in this instance as greater than male and as the greatest word I know to use at the time of writing – no offense intended).
That insight will become clear in following blogs.
True spirituality means, our spirit must be born again first. This is greater than world philosophies can explain. Our natural mind cannot understand this. We are spirit beings living in temporary dirt bodies. That is why our spirit needs to be born again to live in the fullness of life. Hence, looking for God.
