Are you looking for God and are as hungry for truth as I am?
No subject taboo with God.
I have discovered there is no subject taboo with Him. If it is, it is generally religious dogma.
We all live in this great big chicken yard and all have stories to tell with many questions to ask. My story, it is motivated by this, if you are interested. “I am not happy living in this unstable international mess of opinions. I want to know if there is a leader, councillor, adviser of advisers who I can contact and trust to steer me through the mess we have all made”.
The chicken yard full of purpose.
Some chickens are white, some black, some red, some orange, some freckled but all eat and excrete poo. We all like attention, get our feathers ruffled and get frightened by the man with the axe who wants our body for their Sunday roast.
Well, at least that’s how it seems sometimes. When I’m in a light-hearted frame of mind it doesn’t change the fact that whatever I set my heart to do in this world my desire is, I am looking to fulfill some meaningful purpose. Something more than temporal value and that is another reason why I am, looking for God .
A big question.
So, blog number one started with the introduction and an inference that there is a God who exists, who can be talked to, who created and owns this chicken yard and who looks after it, whether we are conscious of him or not.
Who is God and where is He to talk to? Good question I think because it sure gets me thinking as to how all this started and ended up in this messed up world we now live in.
Are you like me? When I read current news I can, at times, get depressed and overwhelmed with hopelessness. I need an anchor to something grater than politics, religion or philosophy and so I ask questions of God.
Looking for God in politics and religion.
With politics, religion is a big subject and it confuses me that most say they are following God or doing what is right. Many kill others who believe something else in the name of what ever God they serve. That’s strange.
God must be confused! What do you think?
Some people say all ways lead to God. Well that confuses me as well.
We have an atheist who doesn’t believe there is God! He has to die! Where does that lead him and how does one find freedom from fear or for that matter get a clean conscience.
We have some who say we are accountable to a benevolent founding king, beyond our comprehension, who understands the right way, wisdom, and encourages us to seek him for our answers to the important questions and answers we are missing.
There are others who say we must submit to a dogmatic rhetoric and destroy others who don’t agree so as to achieve rewards of unbridled lust, drunken orgies, playing harps on clouds, and yet others who say it’s all evil, drop out, sort out your Kama. And the list goes on, anti gay, anti religion, liberal theorists, communists, evolutionists, etc , etc. Hmm!! Big questions to an interesting mystery, looking for God!
Believe in what god ?
Friends and possibly a few enemies:-), I’m looking forward to the journey. I start with this.
A Muslim believes
A Christian believes
A Buddhist believes
A Hindu believes
An Atheist believes
Gay people believe
What do you believe?
Something I cannot change.
My conscience pricks me when I’m wrong. I can’t change that but I can silence my conscience by shifting the blame or becoming comatose on drugs. In all the confusion of opinions, I have discovered there is an anchor, a wise one, a chief chicken who knows me more intimately than any other. Religious dogma cannot answer with cold words or a set of laws. Only a reconciliation with the God in Heaven can. That insight will become apparent in the following blogs.
True spirituality means, our spirit must be born again, which is greater than world philosophies can explain. We are spirit beings living in temporary dirt bodies. That is why our spirit needs to be born again to live in the fullness of life. Hence, looking for God.
