POEM

Like jewels in a crown Auckland City night panorama
Beauty to the eye
See the pride of man
For glory or to die

Dancing on water
Colors bring some peace
The pleasant calm after a storm
Your wonders never cease

THE STORY

Auckland City night panorama poem was inspired after I had bought my first Canon 7D camera. I was eager to shoot any scene that presented itself on the way home from Auckland city. Bingo!!!

Beautiful Auckland from the North Shore after a storm. The wind had ceased, the sun had fled to its hiding place on the other side of the planet and this was the scene that caught my attention.

I tried different exposures, zoom lenses on long exposures and camera shake for artistic effects. In the end, I liked this and want to tell a story about the beauty and transient reality of life on earth I purposed to write a poem and play around with some typography.

The image is also available as a photograph without the poem. All cities in the world built on waterways have certain magic at night when the waters calm and colors mingle with stars to dance their sparkling gems upon our memories.
