BILLY TEA AND GOD – An Aussie story born in Donnybrook, Western Australia
Billy tea Australian poem
POEM
Billy tea Billy Tea Australian Poem
Nectar to these taste buds Billy Tea Australian Poem
This essence from my God
Refreshing cultural ties
Sensual hearty hugs
Liquid for my bod
Gum leaves
Charcoal floaties
Dancing from rim to rim
Like star-dust on a midnight lake
Garnishes of modern art
All the more in Him
Between sips of daily life
Pleasure to the taste buds
Aroma to the nose
In the Aussie bush
Black ants
Parade upon my toes
This is great
I find a time to worship
Wonderful and free
Unbound by cultured taste
A whistle parts my parched dry lips
I see a honey bee
Scent in the blue gum tree
This moistened tongue
Yeh
It flaps inside my jaw
Thank God, my provider
I’m free from under law
There is scent in the blue gum tree
And the kookaburra laughs
His companion smile
The dust settles gently
On the footprints of the ant
My words slowly compile
Upon the earthy floor
Beside me
The rusty Billy on the open fire
I rest my spirit in peace
Thankfulness in a grateful heart
Freewill worships its release
No complaint
With this earth … tasty tea
The Bush Billy so simple
No washing up after dark
Pleasure in my laziness
My heart sees a twinkle
Tea … made by God for me
I consider
Whether I like the taste or not
And deeper still
To quench a wanton thirst
Emotions hit the jackpot
And put another first
As the ants crawl upon my toe
In the desert streams of living
I share what little I have
And the Billy happily boils
To me I am truly giving
This is the another
The Spirit of God inspires my heart
Who Jesus wants to birth
My neighbor
I hear the voice of love
Living the riches upon our earth
Amongst all the wonders on earth
And that’s the story of my Billy tea
An earthy kinda taste
And all so heavenly sensed
Under the starry firmament
There is no time to waste
THE STORY Billy tea Australian poem
“Billy Tea and God” is an Australian poem.
The story of an artist with an enquiring mind, a prayerful heart, and a hunger to find some new revelations in the bush.
Experience has a wonderful feeling when you are aware that there is a living God.
This is a poem about a boy, who as a man has gone back to his roots wanting to reflect on childhood memories.
This led to meandering thoughts as nature’s senses whipped up a cacophony of pleasurable images while waiting for his billy tea to boil.
Kookaburahs, ants, bush scents, rustling leaves, and images of Jesus, eternal life, and thankfulness became my interned secrets to be penned.
