GOD BLESS LITTLE TURDS – With an ecological twist
Ecology Compost Poem
POEM
Little turd’s Ecology Compost Poem
From long-legged hungry birds
Fall to the ground
Unwanted droppings
Crap
Little turd’s
Ecology
Little turd’s full of life unseen
Breakdown and supply a bean
Bean grows
Long-stemmed plant births a flower
Kissed by the breeze every hour
Oxygen dispersed in the air
A life cycle designed to care
Flower dies and becomes a pod
More beans made by God
Take a peck hungry bird
Swallow whole
And make a turd
THE STORY:
One day I observed compost in the garden and a train of thought started to emerge about ecology and the sequence of events that caused this to be part of the living organic cycle to produce our food. When the catalyst (excrement – turd) for generating a hotbed of microorganisms began frantically breaking down the discarded matter, a humorous thought occurred to me. A turd from a bird. You now have the poem.
There are so many amazing things to discover all around us that I wonder why some of us get bored so easily. That has to be a mental malady of an attitude to life that has gone wrong. While the microorganisms are playing their part for my welfare, the beans are growing in my garden, a Doctor is busily saving the life of a poor orphan in central Africa and a spacecraft is filled with fuel from this earth and orbiting Neptune sending us back new data to process I just have to marvel at how rich life really is. Wow!!!
Then I realized the folk who are so poisoned with a bitterness that they have to kill in the name of God have got it all wrong. Sincere as they may be in their beliefs they still need these little turds to produce microorganisms to supply the food chain to feed their bodies to live long enough to be angry.
Thanks to Him:
Thank God there is a real God who loves what He made and who gets great pleasure out of those who discover the mysteries and joys of the life He has given us to enjoy. More turds please, so this artist can live to praise God and more art can be produced for the walls in homes and offices all over the world. A turd on a wall in Sydney or New York, maybe even London, Moscow or Melbourne someone has the inside to know we are all dependant on so many unseen elements to our existence.
Enjoy the journey and thank God.
