POEM:

This God light
Written in the sky
Brought me to wonder
Was there a lie
Sovereign hunger
An appetite full of requests
Do we die as unwanted pests

Where are you God
To speak with reason
That I might listen
Without hidden treason
My eyes observe this glorious day
Someone must have made it
You the potter and I the clay

With knowledge deep within
I admire this amazing view
All these wonders
They belong to you
I’m a reasonable man
Open the eyes of my heart
Reveal your inspiring art

For I the wayward son
Will paint you some art
Herald to the world your story
A Renaissance man
Inspired
The God light
Your glory from the start

THE STORY:

As in the poem “All Kissed By A Lovers Hand” I heard an American photographer describing the sunlight radiating from behind the clouds as “The God Light” and I immediately knew what he meant.

The mystery of the ages is still something that resides in the human spirit. When I researched through my West Australian and New Zealand photo library, many images also had this theme. As I worked them into a joint piece of art, a story started to emerge and a new poem was born. I wanted to express this moment of contemplation about my questions in the spirit. As a result, it showed the gratitude I wanted to give back to the Divine for His wonder and magnificence that is way beyond my comprehension.

There are 4 images stitched together to highlight the poem. The black back gulls came from a project I photographed many years ago. If you want to know why they are so striking with color, send me a text or email and I will post the story.
