STORY
This Red Rose oil painting captured my imagination from a worm’s eye view looking towards the heavens. I wanted to capture the translucent sunlight in the petals. This worm’s eye view offered a different perspective and as an afterthought, then came the ladybird. It is a partial copy of my original painting.
It’s an extraordinary science to know what is happening in the leaves and stems from the action of photosynthesis. To create the wonder of sight and scent in the petals of the rose is a WOW to me. I for one am in awe of how God made this.
All I can do is recreate what I see on canvas within the confines of the artist’s imagination. Like the Lily from the Valley 3 and Lily from the valley 4 paintings, I was challenged to see how true I could work the oils. I wanted the photo-realistic appeal to express the sentiment in the Rose story.
A parable of the rose
A rose has no nationality, no pride, and no religious or political affiliation. Rose ladybird oil painting
A Rose doesn’t care who owns it. Its universal appeal should be an insight into how we are to treat each other. Through a revelation of Himself the master craftsman, God desires the fragrance of a rose to whisper its beauty through our homes. Without fear, we are to enjoy one another. Without prejudice and bitterly disputed opinions, we should tend our gardens to blossom like the rose.
Like a guardian, the ladybird eats the * Aphids allowing the rose full nutrition for its fullest glory. (* Aphids suck the nutrition in the sap out of the plant which robs the rose head of vital nutrition)
Til the soil of your heart, fend off the predators, water with kindness, fertilize with praise, prune dead branches, encourage good companions and a thoroughbred will blossom.
The unashamed photorealistic oil painter
How should I paint the rose? All disciplines mastered like cubism, impressionism, photorealism, modernism, or expressionism, all creative expression has its place. Greater than the rose painting is the love in the master’s hand who gave us the rose to marvel at.
The reproductions of this Red rose oil painting is best on display in the interiors of homes from Dubai to London or New York, Paris, or Sydney.
Not only a beautiful work of art but the allegory written with its intention is a heartfelt inspiration to meditate upon as a guideline toward a wonderful contemplation in your heart. God has given us a beautiful world in which to live and play and my exhortation is, “Don’t get so busy building your empire that you forget to stop and appreciate the beauty He has placed before your eyes”. Lay on the ground and look up.
Ian Anderson has learned certain techniques to apply oils on canvas. The finished product exalts Ian’s name before many but there is no way he has exhausted all knowledge about painting and creative intelligence. He has learned enough to stimulate, provoke, and create something for others to enjoy.
The original master painting belongs in the home of Michael Lunjevich, New Zealand. Michael’s painting inspired “The Translucent Glory”.
