Whatever …
A simple delight

Your antiques bring my heart insight

The pleasure of my father’s house
Brought a pleasant surprise Wood pigeon Kerurū ecology

THE STORY:

This image of Kererū is inspired by my friend’s front window. I was house-sitting at the time, morning sun streaming through the window and it left this delightful halo of light around his edges and off Kererū’s back. I knew immediately, with the right lens and metering I would get a powerful capture. He was so close and like many others of the bird kingdom, I find a moment’s pleasure at knowing if I had more time I could befriend him by building trust.

Something just happens inside of me and these days I find at times an impatience to see peace and the wise management of our resources back on earth. Under the wise counsel of Godly favor and rule, we will win.

I know it’s coming, so I wait patiently for His fulfillment desires. He is trustworthy. Wood pigeon Kerurū ecology

A Past-Time:

My passion and love of nature I learned from my father in Western Australia and that brings back fond memories. Dad keenly fed wild magpies, Kookaburras, and parrots in the land of my nurture. I think my dad had ecologically sound thinking before his time. He loved wildlife and though he was a butcher and farmer. He killed meat only out of necessity and never was one to exploit wildlife. I fondly recall a conversation between father and son on his farm. It goes like this. “I cleared part of the swamp to make a dam for irrigation purposes and also to serve as a wildlife sanctuary for the many species of wildlife living on the property”.

Both parents embedded my love of the bush, wildlife, and affection for animals. I find pleasure knowing I never lost this love.

After meeting God, who in the beginning put it all together, has deepened this love and respect. My personal awe has grown immensely.

As The Passion Grows:

God who made all this possible and I recall him (God) teaching me how he put the fear of man into the animal kingdoms, and rightfully so. I know if they aren’t wired to not trust, they could have been made extinct a long time ago. We have to earn their trust.

Our wayward and careless greed is blindly destructive.

You have to agree, with no constraints, mankind would pillage what he has no respect for. In some nations, this has already happened. If there were no constraints written into law to protect the wonder we have on this planet Kererū would suffer the same fate as other species.

Kererū’s exhortation to us is, don’t be so blind, be more considerate and take on board wise counsel from the Father of all.

Do you think this story should be the topic in London or New York? I think it would be helpful. It makes sense for any of us who care so little about some of our lifestyle choices wrecking the ecological balance meant for good. We all need a prick of conscience.

The taste buds of our Maori and Pakeha family can be managed with some self-control.
