No matter what you believe, all things you see with your eyes have a story to tell.
In daily affairs, under the sun, the Kingfisher 1 tells a story of you and me. A Kingfisher 2 does what it is wired to do when it wakes up. It preens itself, seeks food, procreates, feeds nestlings, uses energy and wonderfully fulfills its unique purpose.
After burning a days energy in accomplishments it comes home to rest, preens itself and back to a regenerative sleep.
Without a dream, you waste away
Think about it, we do the same.
Motivated by a want to feed we go searching for our prized vision. We are, motivated by income, food, sustenance, the conquest to pleasure. With daily energy spent we journey home to the nest for regenerative rest. This is life. If we don’t have a purpose we fade away and perish and all we see has a purpose. Ask a scientist!
You don’t get to play the game of life as a success unless you take part wisely
Being created in the image and likeness of God means we are gifted to dream. The unseen (with our natural eyes) manufacturer has the wisdom to give beyond our comprehension. We tend to abuse what is not understood. For me, this reveals we need to cooperate with the manufacturer to make right what we messed if we want it to work. In this ignorance (lack of wisdom) we reap consequences of loss. We are informed, birds like Kingfisher’s are eaten out of existence because people lacked conservation and caretaker boundaries. In other words, they lacked the wisdom to protect and replenish.
Are you aware animals wisely fear us in our current state of being, because unchecked, we greedily mismanage our resources and put their welfare at stake? Those who care to expose daily evidence in media which has stacked up against us in varying degrees of carelessness. You may see as I, wisdom and purpose are written, like DNA patterns in creation. If we don’t care to take note and change, animals become extinct, people unnecessarily starve, evil destructively runs rampant in our streets and careless people destroy the ecology made for our benefit. Ruled by fear and ignorance many of us will not take responsibility for our part in the mess bringing unnecessary pain upon ourselves and others.
We need to ask for the manufacturer’s counsel to take part with more wisdom. If not, we stumble along in unbelief and will utterly destroy what was made to be good and resourceful for all. The truth is, we all need to buck up and be responsibly seeking our unique part to play. The Kingfisher is unique and so are we.
The Kingfisher reveals a story
The Kingfishers 1 nesting on the river bank near my studio, find more than enough food for their daily living. Put it in context, they don’t have to manufacture to sustain their food basket.
Listening carefully you will hear many people in the developed world come up with all the excuses under the sun saying, “We cant include the whole world in sharing our welfare because of religion, politics, caste systems, belief systems, lack of supply chains etc.” Very few will buck the selfish trend of blaming others and put their hands up to give time, money, education and supply to feed their neighbor. Like the Kingfisher, most of us have the knowledge, skill, and resourcefulness to feed ourselves and immediate family but are negligent when it comes to our neighbors, also revealing our creature nature is akin to the Kingfisher.
We don’t think of our neighbor, the White Faced Heron, Tui, Silver-eye, and Morepork. We instinctively do our own things first, looking after our own nest and interests and there it stops! But wait a minute, don’t we have free will to make better than creature instinct or survival for the fittest? Of course! Unique, as it is the Kingfisher, doesn’t have a creative choice?
Create and supply
Within human dominion are resourceful gifts for creation and supply for much much more than needed in daily wants. If you’re in the developed world, just check your supermarket shelves!
This revelation speaks to me like this. “There is more than enough food in the world, not only to supply our daily needs but all peoples daily needs on the planet”. No one need go hungry. Does this not reveal we have mismanaged our resources and supply chains by shutting our ears and hearts to our neighbors. Like us, they too are wanting their slice of the cake and we are not looking after our neighbors very well. Like the Kingfisher, most of us only have eyes for our own needs.
Look into the sciences, arts, relationships, education, leadership hierarchies and animal kingdoms to discover these truths. Ask Jesus to open your eyes. In every domain, He is always available to discover, for anyone, in any age and nation who seeks the source of life. Even the Kingfisher, White Faced Heron, Tui, Silver-eye, and Morepork are in the heart of His sovereign supply.
A different outcome is promised for those who discover a love for this worlds founder. This is true spirituality. Create and supply will be motivated by love. Wisdom and respect will embody creative enterprise. Self-centered pursuits and creature instincts will be overruled for the good of all.
A treasured moment in creations story.
What do you think of my new friend seen resting in the tree next to my studio? He is one of about 7 in a family on this part of the Mahurangi River, Warkworth.
Our interaction was about 5 minutes. A deep fascination and pleasure to this creature. As I photographed, I dreamed dreams of how to present him in this piece of art. The beauty in this Kingfisher reflects more than words can convey of the beauty and joy of living I have discovered. He looked so healthy. Nice one, huh!!!
Writing this story has inspired me to look after my neighbor with more intentional purpose. This means my neighborhood will become a better place. If you do the same, starting in your neighborhood means this. Together we will bring more trust in our world and a greater slice of heavens mandate will become a reality on earth.
The Kingfisher will be at fearless rest.
