Time management leads to success for a creative.
All dreams need time management
It has been months since I have played the Blogger, but that doesn’t mean my head has been silent regarding managing time. Many dreams, new meetings and inspired insights regarding visions and dreams have me wondering. “How I can live long enough to fulfil all these inspired images I want to paint”? It’s a nice problem to have … but only after I am learning to time manage better. I guess all creatives would have the same dilemma! Too many ideas to create and not enough time to produce. I get halfway through one and then start another until I have a studio of incomplete works and that is not good discipline. This dilemma is embedded in all aspects of living a successful life.
My example today is, I have an amazing idea and as I start it I know I will have another idea tomorrow which maybe better! If I don’t start with the first one this will cause distractions from my goals hence the need for discipline to work on the first idea.
So how do you discipline yourself to manage better?
Problem. Uploading images and text to the website as a marketing tool. I had uploaded heaps of products and then realised we need to add product code for inventory and had to almost start over again. Bah!!! A quick reconciliation with my alter ego, humble pie, dig deep and plow on. Good learning curve and much the wiser now. Thanx Linda, for the pointers. The answer is to ask many questions, take some notes, do a little more research and follow what advice you have been given.
If you are a person of active faith make sure you talk to God. Get His input because that will be the highest advice you will receive.
Populating the website with product in WordPress added to the long hours and now having a pretty good handle on it I will look at teaching someone else to employ for their skills to improve and give me more freedom to paint. This new journey is adding a lot of personal fulfillment to my life and unashamed, I thank God
The reason, I want to get back into the studio to finish 2 paintings and then head off to Tiritiri Matangi Island for stage two of the book I am creating on the islands unique flora, fauna and ecology. Of interest is a couple of night shoots of Penguin’s, Kiwi and Weta’s, and whatever else sparks my imagination. I think the night sky and lighthouse might spark some creativity for two or three night images in the book. What do you think?
Reading between the lines.
You will see how many projects I need to manage as you read this blog so you will understand why time management needs discipline. It will be the same for you and where there is discipline there is also patience and perseverance.
